The Check-in Man homepage: “Every one-on-one deserves a room of its own”, next to a rack of brass room keys.

The idea

One-on-ones are where teams are really built — and where most of what was said gets lost. Agendas live in chat threads, notes in private documents, promises in someone’s memory.

Check-in Man gives every recurring one-on-one a room of its own. Both people bring topics, take notes and keep promises, and the next conversation picks up exactly where the last one ended.

What it does

  • A shared agenda for every check-in, open to both people — also through the key link in the Google Calendar invite.
  • Standing topics that return every time, and a library of conversation cards.
  • Notes on every topic, plus private notes that only the author can read.
  • Promises that carry over until they are done.
  • A pulse by moonlight: the team member rates each check-in from new moon to full moon.
  • A closing ritual: open topics move to the next check-in and both get a recap.

How it is built

Laravel 13 with Inertia, React and TypeScript. Google sign-in only: people join their company automatically through their Workspace domain. Multi-tenant, with company admins and a back office.

Privacy is the rule everything else follows: only the two people in a room can read it. Admins see that rooms exist — never what is inside.

The design

Night Desk: a hotel after dark. Brass key tags, a reception bell, a ledger and the moon. Mysterious on the outside, calm on the inside.
