The Boared dashboard, redrawn from the 2020 wireframes: a running timer, hours against goals for today, the week, the month and the year, the money set aside this month and the budget that is left.

The idea

As a freelancer, not all the money that comes in is yours. Part of it is VAT, part is income tax, and part should become salary, pension and savings. Most freelancers sort that out by hand — or not at all.

Boared brings the work and the money together. Track your hours per client and project, turn them into invoices and client reports, and decide in advance what happens when a client pays.

Rules

Rules move money between your bunq accounts, in order of priority. When a payment comes in, 21% goes to the VAT account and 45% to income tax. On the first of the month a fixed salary goes to your personal account, 500 to your pension and whatever is left to savings.

What we built

A Laravel back end with the bunq API for the bank connections and rules, Vue components for the time log, clients, projects, invoices and reports, and a React Native app. It reached beta in 2020.
